With On the Way Up, the UCLA graduate and former Chief Financial Officer for N Soul Records displays a clean style. Larissa tends toward the slower Christian side on tracks like "The Messenger" and "Clothe Me." And Larissa takes her turn at being a diva on the "Choir Loft Mix" of "Messenger." For reasons that are baffling to me, Larissa sandwiches several hidden tracks before reaching the album's conclusion. My money lands on "I Can Do Anything," a bouncy number that reflects Larissa's turn with the gospel/dance group, Nitro Praise. Take a fresh breath with On the Way Up.
