Chaz Vegas,
Venus (1999) - Venus is an independent project from this threesome, fronted by film maker
Chaz Vegas. With his visual orientation, Vegas delivers a product that is filled with strong images. The band consists of Chaz Vegas on vocals and guitars, John Pahmer on piano, organs and bass, and Alan Johnson on drums and percussion. Pahmer has recorded and toured with Terrence Trent D'Arby and Lili Haydn, and also plays in Picasso Jones. The album was engineered
and mastered by Dante DeSole, who has worked with such acts as Phillip Glass, Dave Navarro
and Reeves Gabrels. The album runs to nine tracks, ranging from "Silence" to "Isolation" to "Delicious" to the concluding, "Caught in a Dream." Explains Chaz, "The
album's title evokes both the mythical goddess of love and a lonely, desolate wasteland at the outskirts of our
solar system. Between these two extremes lie the emotional possibilities of a relationship: love, lust, commitment,
expectation, despair, heartache, elation."Chaz is performing in the New York City area. Look for the moody and atmospheric Venus.
