Watts, Flash! (Luminosity 1998) - The quartet known as Watts hails from Boston. With a garage rock sound described by the group as "electric . . . and sometimes trashy!" Watts pulls no punches on Flash! Formed in 1997, Watts consists of Ron Chane on bass and vocals, John Blout on guitar and vocals, Dan Kopko on guitar and vocals, and Jon Rutkowski on drums. The band took its name from a Kinks' song (called "David Watts"), and shares the late 70's punk attitude of Elvis Costello and the Clash. With songs like "Jimmy Walker" and "Fine Young Man," Watts delivers a "retro-modern" sound that keeps the rock tradition alive. God bless 'em.
