Mark Hodges,
Everything that Rises Must Converge (Funky Bone Music 1998) - Mark Hodges has released on of the better indie projects that I've heard in while. The album
features a Georgia garage-band sound, which means that this home recording is always challenging.Hodges was formerly the leader singer for Hubbard's Cupboard, which was based in Athens, Georgia. Hodges' guitar chops are displayed on such cuts as "Shut Up Zechariah" and the synth-driven, "Alright, Yeah." It's tempting
to call Everything That Rises Must Converge a slice of Buddy Holly with feedback, but that's too
simplistic - Hodges is a mature talent. Highly recommended. For more information, contact: Mark Hodges Phone 706/651-0947 Email markhges@hotmail.com - Randy Krbechek © 1998 Check CD Shakedown for Weekly Reviews of Music CDs and New Albums |
